- Born in San Francisco, raised in Wisconsin, Jessica Fenlon lives in Pittsburgh, Pa. A working artist who strips autobiographical content from images emerging from daily life, she's usually doing too much, and loving it. Look for her work in the '07 3 Rivers Film Festival (November), in the Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Members Show, and other coming events. Collaborations: Periodically she projects backing video she made for the band New Invisible Joy. In the past, she worked with Chalk Outline Party. She also works with choreographer Stephanie Theil, creating video projection for dance piece Flip the Script. She also randomly records violin for composers like Boston's Colin Owens. She's the organizer and host of the randomly-occuring event, Viewer Discretion, a video open mic at the Brillobox in Pittsburgh. She writes far too much poetry to keep to herself, and finds herself on stage reading it to people (some people call this Spoken Word performance), at times, with a film projected behind her. Her first book of poetry should be produced by Pittsburgh's Six Gallery Press early in 2008. Lifelong obsessions? Myth, violin, epistomology & information processing and how this affects the act of knowing ... Lately? New Orleans, the recontextualization of memory, traumatized cities, the soldier's experience of war, beauty, the Aliens movie franchise, and Japanese culture during American occupation post-WWII. Statistically, she's probably taller than you.
